Fethiye: an alternative capital for VIP dental tourism

Many Europeans, particularly the British, are finding that the cost of travelling to Turkey is usually more than recovered by the money they save on the professional dental services they receive whilst in the country. What’s more, if you are already in Turkey, you shouldn’t miss this opportunity for some very reasonably priced dental treatment!
Turkey, especially the Fethiye region, hosts thousands of international visitors every year, who come specifically for its excellent and affordable dental services; however, by being in Fethiye already, you double this advantage, since the doctors and dentists are already very familiar with dental tourism.
The high level of expertise of Turkey's dentists – endodontists and orthodontists – is because they are trained to the same high standards as in the rest of Europe. Facilities are modern and clean and have state of the art equipment. What’s more, Turkey has 46 JCI (Joint Commission International) Accredited institutions, which is comparable with 10 European Countries.
The Southern Aegean Development Agency is supporting Dental Tourism in the area, through a Fethiye based project. As dental care costs are so high in European Countries, for the last few years the Turkish Government has been supporting this strategic sector with several different projects. This year, Dent-Art Oral and Dental Health Services Tourism Trade Limited Company prepared a project and applied to Southern Aegean Development Agency and they are pleased to announce that the Project was accepted.
For the first part of the project, the main focus is on technological developments. In order to provide a service reaching European Standards, the technological infrastructure has been improved using the latest model computer based dental equipment. A medical interpreter will also be employed in the project in order to provide a VIP service to the patients, while many of the dentists already speak English.
Manager of the company and Endodontist, Melih Konarılı says: “We are aware that dental care costs in Turkey are usually less than half for the same service provided in European Countries. The cost of implants in particularly outstanding for European visitors and we can understand from our patients’ delighted feedback that dental care quality in Turkey is at a very acceptable level. Thanks to the South Aegean Development Agency, we have targeted a higher level to provide the best service supported with the latest model technological devices. I’m absolutely certain that, if a tourist visits any of the fully registered dentists in this area, they will be happy with the extremely reasonable prices and high quality services. Maybe the only problem is how to increase awareness. During the project we are planning to attend some International Medical Exhibitions and by the end of the project, I m sure it will not be only us who will be happy with the results but also the patients and all the people in Fethiye who use our services.
As part of the project, special offers will be made available to patients and those who are not resident in Fethiye will be hosted in local hotels throughout the course of their treatment. The company will also offer free flight tickets for patients visiting from overseas. So, patients who don’t live in Fethiye will be able to have a free holiday thanks to their dental treatment costs, which will be still less than the amount they would pay in their own country.”
