Travelling 2117 kilometres to reach Fethiye, the Bulgarian cyclist wishes to relay his rebellion against the use of vehicles on engines and to prove that it is possible to live in a world with no garbage. His tour will cover Syria, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Spain, France and Italy, coming to an end in Istanbul.
Bulgarian cyclist, Vyacheslav Stoyanov (38), who is an Industrial Designer, started on a Mediterranean Tour for a world without garbage and arrived at Fethiye, Mugla.
Previously in 2009, within the framework of a social activity entitled Factor Foundation in Bulgaria, he cycled along the Black Sea Coast of 6 thousand kilometres in 45 days under the slogan I THINK, and in the same year he toured along the Greek coastline of 4 thousand 800 kilometres in 39 days. Vyacheslav Stoyanov said that he intended to complete the Mediterranean Coastline Tour of 23 thousand kilometres in 10 months. The Bulgarian cyclist, Vacheslav Stoyanov remarked that he was always willing to fulfil his liabilities for a world without garbage, adding, “My aim at touring along the Mediterranean with my bicycle is two fold. My first aim in getting on the road with the slogan I Think is based on he fact that numerous people prefer to use vehicles with engines for transportation. Yet using a bicycle is not harmful to nature at all. I decided to make this tour of 23 thousand kilometres to encourage the use of bicycles. Ever since I started out from Istanbul, I witnessed several derogatory aspects of numerous vehicles with engines. My second aim is to achieve living in a world without garbage. I saw thousands of heaps of garbage on the way which caused me great distress with my flag, I shall try to relay that it is possible to create an environment without any litter.”
