The second-hand goods bazaar organized by the Fethiye Municipality on the first Wednesday of every month is becoming larger in scope. Halime Ok, the Director of the Municipal Security Forces, stated that interest is growing among both consumers and sellers in the bazaar set up at the sheltered stands of the Tuesday Market. Reminding that the bazaar was started in July, 2009, Ok pointed out that it has developed significantly with the number of 80 stands becoming l50 in a short while.

Halime Ok added that there was no problem for space at the bazaar and every applicant could acquire a stand, commenting as follows: “Citizens living in our town can sell such items as household goods, jewellery, and hand-made decorative materials they have at home which they no longer use. In this way while the sellers contribute to the family budget, the consumers are able to buy inexpensive items. It is not allowed to sell brand new goods, electronic equipment, mobile phones, white household goods, CDs, cassettes and foodstuff at the bazaar. Our citizens wishing to acquire a stand at the bazaar are expected to apply to our Municipality with their identification certificates pursuant to the fifteenth
day of the subsequent month for the allocation of space. There is no problem about the availability of space.”
