Pursuant to decrease in prices of petroleum products on international markets, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways decided to reflect the decrease in fuel oil prices and consecutive reductions in taxes in their costs of tickets.

While both airways have reduced the prices for flights in economic class, there has been no deduction in premium class flights of Virgin Atlantic and “World Traveller Plus” class flights of the British Airways

In the “Economy” flights of Virgin Airways and “World Traveller” class of the British Airways, pursuant to the reductions in costs of fuel and taxes, the ticket prices for short distances will be lowered to 68 euros from 78 euros. For long distances the cost of the tickets will be 96 euros instead of 109 euros.

One barrel of petroleum, which was as high as 148 dollars in July, is now below 80 dollars.

The high cost of fuel was indicated as the reason for the bankruptcy of Oasis, Silverjet, Zoom and XL travel agencies
