A minute’s silence was held for the floods in Istanbul before the kick-off between Fethiyespor and Tepecik. Mustafa Ceviz made a few team changes this week, the biggest of them all, Goalkeeper Hakan Gedik, being replaced by Güner Topçu. The referee had a busy game, showing 13 cards, 2 of them being red. However, a good game ensued, 3 points added to the total, putting them 5th  in the table with 4 points. Murat Deniz had another good game scoring two goals and now has 4 goals in 2 games.
Cards were flying around in the first 10 minutes, with Bahadır Davran receiving a yellow card for fouling Serdar Bayrak roughly, and then another one, a couple of minutes later, Bayram Dede challenged Eser Şen a bit late and was shown the yellow card. Fethiyespor’s first real chance came in the 22nd minute, Tepecik keeper Fadıl Koşutan clashed heads with Coşkun Yılmaz and the ball dropped to Murat Deniz , 20 yards out, but his shot was well saved by the keeper. Coşkun Yılmaz had a good effort saved from 25 yards out, Fadıl Koşutan made a bit of a mess with it, but recovered it. Fethiye’s closest chance came just before the first goal, Murat Deniz did well to get past Ilker Cihan in the box and pass it to Serdar Bayrak who gave it to Murat Yılmaz but by then there were too many Tepecik players in the box and the shot was easily blocked. Then came the first goal of the night, Ferhat tackled Coşkun Yılmaz on the edge of the area and received a yellow card for it. Murat Deniz took the free-kick, the ball sailed over the 5 man wall, and curled into the top left corner, leaving Fadıl Koşutan stranded. A great free-kick by any standard.
A few minutes later Serdar did well to find Coşkun Yılmaz, but his shot went terribly wide. Murat Deniz was scythed down and advantage was played but no card was given. Murat Deniz played a nice one – two with Murat Yılmaz and crossed it well to Coşkun Yılmaz, who couldn’t strike the way he wanted to and the ball went wide.
That was the last bit of action of the 1st half.
Tepecik looked the favourites to score in the first 20 minutes of the game, but after Murat Deniz scored that brilliant goal, the away side didn’t seem to be able to create chances, and with no travelling fans, the team couldn’t be lifted for the 2nd half. It could have been a lot worse for the away side if Fethiyespor had taken their chances well, they could have been 3 or 4 nil up by half time.
Tepecik made a sub at half-time; Bahadır Davran came off for Sadettin Özer. Fethiyespor could have scored a goal early on in the second half, after winning a corner, Murat Yılmaz swung one in and the ball met Coşkun’s head but Fadıl showed great reflexes to just tip it over for another corner. Then that corner was crossed over to Serkan who got his head to it this time and Fadıl saved it and the ball bounced onto the line but Türker Toptaş cleared.
Then came the second goal of the game, Murat Deniz was chasing forward, near enough 1 on 1 with the keeper and he was tugged down again by Mehmet Ali, the referee pointed to the spot and Murat Deniz coolly got his and his team’s 2nd of the night. Mehmet Ali also got booked for the tug.
Another great chance for the home side as Murat Yılmaz found Coşkun Yılmaz’s forehead but the header went smashing into the crossbar in the 57th minute. That was Coşkun’s last chance to score as he made way for Yahya Topcu in the 65th minute. Yasin Şahan was booked for shirt tugging in the 69th minute. Önder Tezcan was booked and gave away a free kick in a dangerous place. The set play was used quickly down the wing, the Fethiyespor defence cleared it for a corner, the corner was taken and the ball went flying towards the free Sadettin Özer who headed it into the goal easily in the 71st minute. Fethiyespor seemed to play it more defensively after that goal.
Murat Yılmaz trotted off for defensive midfielder Gökhan Şeker Temel in the 73rd minute. Tepecik forward Murat Berge came limping off for Ilker Erbay in the 75th minute and Sabri Turgut also got booked in the same minute for a late tackle. A big bust up was involved in the 77th minute; a late tackle by Yasin Şahan caused some trouble and Yasin received a second yellow card and Serkan Albayrak was shown a straight red for a shove on Yasin Şahan. Serdar Bayrak was replaced by Akif Elçiçeği and was shown a yellow card for “time wasting” in the 81st minute. Tepecik defender Ilker Cihan was their last sub of the night as he was replaced by Eser Berkil. Sub Yahya Topcu was booked in the 85th minute for a shove from behind. And Tepecik sub Ilker Erbay was booked for a late tackle in the 87th minute. A great chance for an equaliser was wasted by Ilker Erbay in the 91st minute, as a great cross from Eser Şen wasn’t met well by Erbay. The 13th and last booking of the night was harshly given to Gokan Şeker for a fair tackle. And that was it, Fethiye scraped the win and offensively playing well. If they work on their set-play work, they could clinch promotion. Keep on Supporting!
