Pursuant to a meeting with the Board of Directors, the resignation of Mustafa Ceviz was accepted.
During the last match with Akhisar, Fethiyespor gave away 5 goals and faced an almost historically crushing defeat when shouts were heard from the tribunes asking for Ceviz to resign. Mustafa Ceviz had a meeting with the Board of Directors today and handed in his resignation.
The following is the written statement of Mustafa Ceviz:
“My contract with Fethiyespor for the 2009-2010 football season is no longer valid. I have relayed my wish to leave the team to the president of our club. There has been an eighty per cent change in the staff in Fethiyespor where unfortunately the required harmony has not been achieved and the anticipated good results were not forthcoming.
We have been unable to benefit from our players who were injured during the first week of the season. Furthermore, the absence of our players who were penalized impaired the structure of our team. These have all led to undesired consequences. Our administration, supporters, fans and we ourselves are all deeply sorry.
I shall be forever grateful to our supporters who shouldered me with joy while we were enjoying championship, and were able to achieve the impossible when everyone expected Fethiyespor to drop into a lower-ranking league, and I quite understand their present reaction.
I would like to express my thanks to our esteemed Chairman, Board of Directors and the staff. I also send my greetings and respects to the Fethiyespor community, wishing them success.
Technical Director
Mustafa Ceviz
